About the introduction of the rapid prototype

In order to improve the quality of the prototype, it is very important to design the prototype before making the prototype. There are many factors that need to be considered in the actual production of prototypes, such as the selection of prototype materials, the availability and safety of prototype structures, the machinability of prototype parts, and the convenience of prototype maintenance. So, what problems should you pay attention to before making a prototype? The following is an introduction to the rapid prototype.

1. Selection of prototype materials

The selection of prototyping materials must not only meet the customer's requirements for product quality, but also consider the cost of the material and its strength in the design cycle. At the same time, it should be selected according to the type of prototype, the working mode used, the processing speed, the main failure mode and other factors.

E.g:

The main failure mode of blanking die is edge wear, so materials with high surface hardness and good wear resistance must be selected.

Stamping dies are mainly subjected to cyclic loads, which are prone to surface fatigue cracks, resulting in surface peeling, so it is necessary to choose materials with good surface toughness;

The drawing die should choose a material with a particularly low coefficient of friction.

Since the die-casting mold is subjected to cyclic thermal stress, materials with strong thermal fatigue should be selected.

2. Matters needing attention in the production and processing of prototypes

The prototype process route can be processed twice according to the needs of the workpiece. First, the outer and inner walls of the prototype are processed, the datum is milled, and then turned 180 degrees to clamp, and the outer surface and the position of the key screen are processed. If the outer surface is processed first, and then the inner wall is processed, it is difficult to position and clamp for secondary processing.

If the wall thickness of the prototype is only 1.5mm, it is easy to deform and break when processing the outer surface. Fill, if any, is added to the machined cavity for support, which avoids machining through holes and filling with plaster, which would otherwise be difficult to separate the finished product from the filler.

First repair the trimmed surface, cover the position of the through hole on the surface, process the front surface, and then dig the groove to complete the through hole machining, so as to avoid the phenomenon of poor tool path fluctuation and uneven cutting force when machining the through hole. .

Remember! It is necessary to mill out the reference section angle first, so as to avoid the wrong direction of ingredients during clamping.

It should be noted that in the manufacturing process, cutting is simulated first, and then machining and numerical control are performed.

What should I pay attention to when making a prototype? All parts on the prototype should have sufficient strength and rigidity to prevent damage and deformation during use. All parts on the prototype should have sufficient strength and rigidity to prevent damage and deformation during use. Fasteners should take anti-loose measures to avoid accidental injury to operators. Scrap or workpiece missiles are not allowed during the machining process, which will affect the operator's concentration or even hurt the operator. In addition, avoid cutting your hands by the burrs of the blanked parts.
