What are the clamping methods in CNC machining?

Common clamping methods for machining:

1. Find the centering clip directly

This is a method of clamping the workpiece position directly on the machine using a dial indicator, scribing disc or visual inspection.

2. Mark the line to find the centering clip

This method is to draw the center line, symmetry line and processing line of each surface to be machined on the blank according to the part drawing, and then install the workpiece on the machine tool to determine the clamping position of the workpiece. Correct the machine tool according to the line.

This clamping method has low productivity, low precision and high technical requirements for workers. It is generally used for single-piece production, or where the dimensional tolerance of the blank is large and cannot be directly clamped with a fixture.

3. Fixtures

The fixture is specially designed according to the requirements of the processing technology. Positioning elements on the fixture allow the workpiece to quickly occupy the correct position relative to the machine and tool. The positioning accuracy of the workpiece can be guaranteed without correction, and the fixture productivity is high. The positioning accuracy is high, but special fixtures need to be designed and manufactured, which are widely used in batch and mass production.

Precautions for clamping during cnc processing:

1. All clips are long and short.

2. Vise clamping: the clamping height should not be less than 10mm. When machining workpieces, the clamping height and the machining height must be specified. The processing height should be about 5mm above the plane of the vise to ensure that the firmness of the vise is not damaged. This kind of clamping is a general clamping, and the clamping height is also related to the size of the workpiece. The larger the workpiece, the higher the clamping height.

3. Plywood clamping: The pallet is coded on the worktable, and the workpiece is screwed on the plywood. This type of clamping is suitable for workpieces with insufficient clamping height and high machining force. Generally, the effect of medium and large workpieces is better.

4. Clamping iron: When the workpiece is large, the clamping height is not enough, and the bottom line is not allowed to be locked, the clamping iron is used. This kind of clamping requires double-loading, first coding the four corners, processing the other parts, then coding the four sides and processing the four corners. After the secondary clamping is completed, do not let the workpiece loosen, first loosen the code. You can also encode two sides and process the other sides.

5. Clamping of tools: if the diameter is above 10mm, the clamping length should not be less than 30mm; if the diameter is below 10mm, the clamping length should not be less than 20mm. The tool should be clamped firmly to prevent direct insertion of the tool into the workpiece.
