CNC machining various cutting methods

1. Cnc processing reciprocating cutting:

The reciprocating cutting method creates a reciprocating parallel cutting toolpath that maintains continuous motion during the stepping motion. Remove material without lifting the knife, maximizing the most economical and labor-saving cutting motion. This cutting method grinds and counterattacks together, and if the clear wall is enabled, it will affect the direction of the clear wall, so that the clear wall is purely down-cut or up-cut.

2. One-way cutting for cnc processing:

The one-way cutting method produces a parallel one-way cutting guide, and the return stroke is a rapid movement. Because no cutting occurs during the return stroke, it affects the processing efficiency. Unidirectional cuts allow consistent down or up milling at all times. It is usually used for surface machining of islands and where reciprocating cutting methods are not suitable, such as some steep wall ribs, which are generally used for surface finishing.

3. One-way cutting along the contour in cnc machining:

One-way cutting along the contour is used to create a parallel, one-way, contoured toolpath, always maintaining climb or up-cut milling. The surface quality of CNC machining is better than that of reciprocating and one-way cutting. The cutting is relatively smooth and has no effect on the tool. Therefore, it is usually used for machining parts or thin-walled parts that require high sidewalls.

4. Cnc processing follows peripheral cutting:

The perimeter cutting method below is mainly used to create a concentric toolpath along a sequence of contours obtained by offsetting perimeter contours, all of which are presented in closed form in the machining area. A toolpath that follows a peripheral cut is a continuous cutting toolpath. There is no need for air cutting, and it is basically possible to keep simple down milling or up milling. Therefore, it has high cutting efficiency, maintains cutting stability, and ensures processing quality.

5. Cnc processing follows workpiece cutting:

Following the workpiece cutting method, a series of special-shaped contours are generated for all the specified contours of the machined part. The outer peripheral wall of the special-shaped cutting area and the islands in the cutting area are formed by offsetting the outer contour. The cutting area and island contours are obtained, and the toolpath following the workpiece is a continuous cutting toolpath. No empty cutting, can maintain simple down milling or up milling, high cutting efficiency, maintain cutting stability, and ensure processing quality. Typically used for pocket machining areas with islands.

6. Cnc processing cycloid cutting:

Using the trochoidal cutting method, a small circle is formed around the outline to avoid the reduction of the amount of material caused by the full knife cut when cutting. Trochoidal cutting is suitable for high-speed machining and CNC machining with relatively uniform cutting loads.
