Through our years of experience, we've learned that successful aerospace machining requires five key elements, and we've honed our expertise in each area. When you submit a quote for a custom precision part or assembly for aerospace, we review each of these elements to provide you with the best solution.
Material
When manufacturing parts for the aerospace industry, the main challenge is sourcing and processing suitable materials, which often include superalloys or specialty metals such as Inconel, Monel, high-grade nickel and titanium.
Processing of aerospace materials. The hardness and heat-absorbing properties of these materials allow them to pass through Earth's atmosphere en route to outer space. However, the same properties that make these metals ideal for aerospace machining also make them extremely difficult to machine. Nickel-based alloys, for example, are prone to tool wear if not machined properly. We have a long history of machining tough materials that most mills find difficult to machine. We also have the top talent needed to process new and custom materials in the market. From programming to machining, our team has the necessary expertise to manufacture high quality, affordable and on-time production.
Tolerance
In an industry like aerospace, where the margin for error is small, the safety standards for flight are high, and no corners are cut when it comes to precision and accuracy. Many components that go into an aircraft or spacecraft must fit into very small spaces and therefore must have tight tolerances.
Inspection and quality
Due to the highly regulated nature of the aerospace industry, internal quality and inspection standards for aerospace components must be rigorous. Concord is ISO9001 certified and all our policies and procedures comply with ISO9001 guidelines.
Package
Depending on factors such as size and edge sharpness, parts may require special packaging to ensure they arrive at the customer in the same condition they left the store. We don't want any parts to arrive scratched or rattling!
We may use standard packaging, such as egg cartons, but also have special pallets and other custom packaging materials for required parts. We put a lot of effort and care into our aerospace components, so we want to make sure they are delivered on time and in pristine condition.
