A brief analysis of the difficulties in the five-axis machining impeller process

The integral impeller is a typical five-axis machining part, and how to compile a correct and efficient machining program is its key technology. The processing technology of five-axis impeller is complicated and precise, and it is the core technology of industrial production in my country, which is not easy to master. Below, the editor will give you a brief introduction to the machining process of the five-axis machining impeller.

Five-axis machining impeller machining makes programming complex workpieces easy. Machining with the cutting edge results in a smoother machined surface than machining with the bottom edge of the tool. It is suitable for finishing machining of workpieces with complex cavities in the aerospace industry. It provides a dedicated function to effectively prevent gouging of the tool, the bottom of the part cavity, and program lateral cuts for various tools including tapered tools based on surface or wireframe data.

The five-axis linkage roughing of Mastercam adopts automatic tool axis control, which avoids drastic changes of the tool axis during the roughing process. For some parts, we can program a three-axis toolpath: then convert it to a five-axis toolpath in Mastercam's multi-axis module. The five-axis tool path automatically generates the tool axis, optimizes the original tool path data, and includes a complete five-axis five-axis collision detection. The flexible use of three-axis and five-axis can simplify the difficulty of five-axis programming and improve the programming speed. This function supports conversion of all three-axis toolpaths, and the generated five-axis toolpaths are fast, safe and reliable without overcutting.
